One after another
Each stronger with time
Pelting down at her.
She is strong
And aware of it,
Takes the beating.
In the dark hours
Smiling to herself
Licking her wounds.
Faces another day
With a fresh start
For, she is fearless.
Prompt from sunday scribblings - Fearless.

I like the simple verse. Welcome to SS!
shapely ghosts
Welcome to Sunday Scribblings!
Welcome if this is your first Sunday Scribblings outing. I like that piece - it could mean so many different kinds of "beatings". Well done!
It definitely takes courage to get through life these days.
Nice poem - and welcome to Sunday Scribblings!
Dark but good. It makes me wonder at the story behind it.
I do not (pretend to) understand poetry. No offence.
Welcome, nice piece with many open ends, yet it brings a sense of closure.
Are you referring to the hardships (and possible criticisms) of a doctor-to-be as the "beatings" in your poem? It would explain much in this intriguing but enigmatic verse.
the promise of a new day always keeps me going!

@solitaire
why does she have to leave? she is fearless enough to face her beatings. Maybe leaving may prove to be more cowardly in her circumstances.
wow...she is fearless.
she sure is!
Beautiful indeed!
This describes perfectly the woman. She is all this, and even more!
